Greetings from the Ridge;

I am writing to inform you that at this afternoon’s Board of Education meeting important information concerning the administration at Marriotts Ridge High School for the 2021-2022 academic year was discussed. Effective today, Mrs. Hastings-Hauf will be assigned as the principal at Glenelg High School. Mrs. Hastings-Hauf has served in the role of assistant principal here at Marriotts Ridge for the past year, lovingly caring for our students and effectively working on their behalf. Her smile, “can-do” attitude, and extensive outreach and relationship building efforts will be sorely missed. Thank you Mrs. Hastings-Hauf, for giving so very freely of yourself. We wish you every success in your new professional home as you create new memories and build new relationships.

Ms. Marty Cherry (mary_cherry@hcpss.org) will transition from her role as assistant principal at Glenelg High School to serve in that same capacity here at Marriotts Ridge. She came to Howard County Public Schools in 2001 as an English teacher at Wilde Lake High School. She spent 11 years teaching English there before becoming an assistant principal at Wilde Lake High School. In 2018, she was transferred to Glenelg High School and thoroughly enjoyed her time as a Gladiator. You will have the chance to connect with Ms. Cherry during our New Student Orientation, our Open House, and at our Back-to-School Night.
