Senior Pick Up and Distribution of Items

Thursday, May 27th 11 AM- 2PM

  • Use the second entrance off Woodford drive and proceed through the car loop at the auditorium side of the building; follow the traffic signs
  • Bring a sign with your first and last name to show as you enter the car loop.
  • DO NOT BAG YOUR ITEMS; staff need to confirm item numbers on the spot
  • Seniors must return textbooks, Chromebooks, HCPSS materials and have no outstanding obligations to pick up graduation tickets. 
  • Students taking AP exams after 5/27 will keep their Chromebooks and exchange them for their diplomas at the school in June. 
  • Each senior will receive a MRHS mask for use at graduation
  • Seniors who ordered caps, gowns and other regalia will pick up these items
  • The few seniors who did not order a cap and gown will need to arrive at 2 PM to meet the vendor.

 

Graduation Rehearsal and Panoramic Photo

Friday, May 28th 9:00-10:30 AM

  • Report to the stadium at 9:00 AM dressed in cap, gown and MRHS mask to line up on the track for a socially distanced Class of 2021 panoramic photo. Orders can be placed through Lifetouch, here. 
  • Graduation rehearsal in the stadium
  • Senior send off, 10:30-10:45 AM
  • If the weather does not allow for an in person rehearsal in the stadium, an online senior meeting will occur at 9:30 AM on Friday, 5/28. A weather decision will be made by 7 AM on Friday. Keep an eye out for details in the Canvas Student Community. 

 

Graduation Day

Wednesday, June 2nd 11 AM

  • Report to your assigned squad leaders in the pavilion by 10:30 AM and stay there!
  • Graduation Attire - Seniors should wear their caps straight on their heads with the deep part at the back and the tassel over the right temple. Decoration of caps and gowns is not permitted. Dress pants, skirts or dresses, collared shirts, neckties and nice shoes are expected attire. No sneakers, tennis shoes, flip-flops or other casual footwear should be worn. When you receive your cap and gown hang it up to release the wrinkles.  Do not iron your gown.
  • Pavilion parking, ceremony broadcast information and are available on the HCPSS and MRHS websites.

 

Parking for Class of 2021 Commencement Ceremonies

  • Please review this information and the map specific to your school’s graduation ceremony time. Students and guests are strongly encouraged to ride together and must park in the assigned lots when arriving at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Uniformed parking attendants will be facilitating the parking for all HCPSS commencement ceremonies. If the assigned lots are full, the parking attendants will redirect guests. 
  • Please follow the signs and direction of the parking attendants to make the event run as smoothly as possible.
  • Parking lots will open 1 hour in advance of the ceremony start time. 
  • At the conclusion of the ceremony, please make every effort to vacate the parking lot as quickly as possible so that parking is available for the next school.
  • Merriweather “Lot 1” which is located just inside the Little Patuxent Parkway at Merriweather Lane is designated as ADA parking. Entrants must have a disability placard and/or license plate. Parking staff may also direct vehicles to other marked ADA spaces if they are available.
  • Guests with disabilities may also be dropped off and picked up in the identified area near the accessible seating (please refer to map).
