Volunteers Needed!

2020 Junior Interview Day – March 26, 2020

MRHS Student Services is looking for parent volunteers to help with our Junior Interview Day, on March 26, 2020. The Junior Interview is a graduation requirement for all students. This process has been a huge success in the past because of the many parents who have volunteered their time. You will be conducting mock interviews and reviewing students’ resumes.

Junior Interview Day will be split into two sessions (7:30am-10:15am and 11:00am-2:10pm). We are aware of the time constraints limiting many professionals and invite you to attend one or both sessions. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all interviewers, compliments of Marriotts Ridge.

If you are able to help with our Junior Interview Day, please click on the link below BY FEBRUARY 21 . If you haven’t already done so, please complete the HCPSS Volunteer Training.  (See information below)  We will contact you with additional details and information as we get closer to the Interview Day.  Please note:  We create our schedule based on your RSVP.  If at all possible, please try to keep your volunteer slot.  If you have any questions, contact Karen Leaf  at 410-313-5446 or Karen_leaf@hcpss.org.

Thank you for helping our MRHS students!

We can’t hold this event without you!

Parent Volunteers – PLEASE READ

HCPSS has developed a brief training module and certificate of completion for anyone that volunteers at Marriotts Ridge or any other Howard County Public School.   Both the module and certificate are located on the HCPSS website.  Parents/volunteers please complete the training and submit your certificate of completion to the front office before registering as a volunteer.

The training is available at:

 http://www.hcpss.org/parents/volunteer-information/

The training must be completed every school year.  Thank you to the many volunteers who have already completed this process and submitted their certificate to the front office.

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR FAMILY FILE TODAY!               URGENT!

Greetings!  In case of emergency, it is vital the school can contact parents and guardians.  The front office has a list of students whose Emergency Info is not verified as current.

Please logon to Canvas as an Adult (not as the student).  Along the left hand side of the screen, there is a place to click on Family File. Please ensure the info is up-to-date and accurate.

Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Every family MUST update the family file every year! We would like to reach 100% completion this year! We still have over 400 students that need their family file updated. In order to keep our students safe, and to be able to contact families if there is an emergency, students will be required to have an updated Family File.

HCPSS uses Family File for parents/guardians to complete emergency information. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child, and can do so by logging in to HCPSS Connect at http://www.hcpss.org/connect/ and selecting the Family File tab and then clicking on Family File. Once logged in, parents/guardians will be asked to provide or update the following information:

Student information
•    Parent/guardian contact
•    Emergency contacts
•    Medical information
•    Arrival/dismissal procedures
•    Media release (photo approval)
•    Data confidentiality
•    PTA/PTSA directory

Changes of address may not be made through Family File. If you have recently moved, please contact our Registrars’ Office at 410-313-5446. Resources on how to access Family File may be found online. Parents who have forgotten their login credentials may click the “Forgot Password” link on the sign in page. Thank you! Synergy-parent-access.pdf

Please note: Canvas works best in Google Chrome and Firefox on a computer or laptop. The app won't let you update the family file.
