March 25

Attn: Juniors and Seniors!  This year's prom is being held May 4 from 7-11 pm at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel.  Tickets cost $85 and are on sale NOW during all lunch shifts.  This is the LAST WEEK to purchase tickets.  NO tickets will be solf after Friday, 3/29.  For more details, go to the MRHS website or ask Ms. Grey or Mrs. Gaieski.
Congrats to the Speech & Debate Team on their tournament over the weekend.  They received 2nd Place for Cumulative Excellence Trophy, 1st Place for having the best performing debators.  The following students placed in various categories, Grace Kim, Amaris Hester, Madisyn Parisi Angelina Zhang, Yoori Kim, Megan Lim, daniel He, Yuvraj Nayak, Minhee Kim and Alex Kim.  Congratulations!
Environmental Fact:  Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours!

 
March 21

Environmental Fact from the Environmental Club:  New plastic bottles only contain about 7% recycled plastic  More bad news: Less than 10% of all plastic waste is actyually recycled.  Most of the plastic ends up in our oceans.  Please recycle your plastic! 
Come and join the MRHS first badminton club! Club meetings take place every Thursday from 2:15-3:15 in the gym.  All students are welcome to attend. There wil be an interest meeting on March 27 during Mustang Time in the main gym.  Hope to see you there!
The HoCo Police Department will be hosting a free, one week overnight Youth Police Academy, July 7-12 at the Public Safety Training Center off Sand Hill Dr.  It is for students ages 15-18 years old who are interested in a law enforcement career. The Youth Police Academy replicates the actyual HoCo Policy Academy.  Deadine to apply is April 12.  See Officer Willingham for more information.

Please come out and support the Music Foundation by stopping by Rita's on Marriottsville this Friday from 2-9 p.m. and enjoy some ice-custard happiness!  Be sure to tell them yu are there to support the MRHS Music Foundation so that a portion of your purchase is donated to back to us!
Donate your pocket change to your Period 6 class collection for Grassroots! Help us raise $2400 to "buy a day" to support Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center for 24 hours.  When we reach our goal, all of our assistant principals and Mrs. Goldeisen will get "pied".

Howard County Senior and top 20 All-Star basketball game this Wednesday, March 20 at 6pm at Oakland Mills High School.  Admission $5.  Featuring MRHS players Amari Little, Ryan Lee, Cam Heard, and Brandon Held.  Also included is the 3 point shoot-out and dunk contest.

There is jewelry in lost and found in the front office.  Have you lost a necklace, bracelet or earring?  Stop by, take a look, and claim your jewelry!
Howard County Senior and top 20 All-Star basketball game on Wednesday, 3/20 at 6pm at Oakland Mills HS.  Admission is $5.00. Featuring MRHS athletes Amari Little, Ryan Lee, Cam Heard and Brandon Held.
Seniors: Make sure to vote for your senior class superlatives in your English classes!  The link is open through March 15.
The Sound of Music opens Thursday, March 21st.  $10 tickets available online through OSP and during lunches on 3/21 & 3/22.  See you at the show!
Diversity Coffeehouse TONIGHT from 7-9pm.  Please come out for some amazing performances by MRHS students and lots of good food & coffee.  This is a free event open to the entire community!
Friday will be the MRHS multicultural Festival from 5-7:430 p.m.  There will be representatives from many of our school clubs as well as performances from Delta Scholars, Bollywood Dance Club, and the Korean Dance Troup.  Participants also have a change to win a $25 gift card.  There will be free samples of foom from our club participants and parent volunteers.
Happy Pie Day - Buy A Day!  Did you know that Grassroots Crisis Intervention Cenyer needs $2400 to run for 24 hours? Starting Monday, 3/18, you can bring money to your 6th period teacher to support Grassroots.  Each 6th Period class will vote on the one Administrator they would like to see pied.  The administrator who raises the most money will get pied on 4/10!

Students who drive and park on campus, must attend a Driver Safety Presentation before purchasing a parking permit.  The next presentation will be held at Long Reach HS on Monday, March 11 at 6:00 PM.  If you have questions, stop by the front office and speak to Mrs. Lockhoff.
Attention Juniors & Seniors:  This year's PROM is being held on Saturday, Mary 4 from 7-11 p.m. in the Harborside Ballroom at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel.  Tickets are $85 and may be purchased online from March 11-28, or in school during lunch shifts March 25-29.  For more details, go to the MRHS website or ask the Junior Class Advisors, Ms. Grey and Mrs. Gaieski.
Are you a performer, artist, or musician looking for a creative venue to showcase your pieces?  Look no further!  The MRHS Coffeehouse Diversity Night is looking for performers of all types to present their poems, prose, or songs to an audience of friends and family to be held March 14 from 7-9 pm.  Interested?  email mrhscoffeehouse@gmail.com to sign up!
MRHS Multicultural Night has been rescheduled for March 15 from 5-7:30 pm.  There will be lots of food & many amazing activities, incuding performances and henna tattoos.  Entry is FREE for everybody!
The MRHS Make A Wish Chapter is hosting a penny war during lunch shifts.  Look for the collection jars on the table at lunch!  The winning grade will earn money for their class council.
