Attention Parent/Guardians of MRHS 9th Graders

 The 9th Grade Team will host an informational meeting on midterm exams for parents of 9th graders on Thursday, January 4th at 7p.m. in the Media Center. Topics will include: the importance of midterm exams, time management strategies and study strategies. ARL Career Academies Information Night

Tuesday,  January 9th at 7PM

Come explore all of the program offerings, hear from ARL teachers’ and students about the three new Career Academies.

 

ARL Shadow Days

Attention 9th grade students: The ARL is offering an Aerospace Engineering Shadow Day and an Early College Program in Cybersecurity Shadow Day on Thursday February 1st. Please go to Student Services for a permission slip to participate. Permission slips are due back to Mrs. Nelson in Student Services by January 18th.

Attention 10th grade students: See what ARL has to offer! ARL Shadow Days will be held on Tuesdayand Wednesday, January 30th and January 31st. Permission slips can be picked up in Student Services and are due back to Mrs. Nelson by January 18th.

 

Adult Volunteers Needed for Winter Dance Ticket Sales 

The MRHS SGA is in need of parent volunteers to sell Winter Dance tickets during lunch shifts January 29 thru February 1 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. outside the MRHS cafeteria.  Please use the link below to sign-up to volunteer.  Email questions to jenniferE_patterson@hcpss.org  or lynn_rashid@hcpss.org  

This year's Winter Dance will be held in the MRHS gymnasium from 7-10 p.m. on February 3, 2018.

Boys Basketball Game Change Notice . . . . Varsity Boys Basketball vs Bard High School game scheduled for January 8 will be played on Tuesday, January 9 at 4:00 at MRHS.   There is no JV game.

Come hear from PTSA committee chairpersons, Mrs. Goldeisen, and SGA.  We are happy to also have Howard County Board of Education members, Ananta Hejeebu and Kirsten Coombs, joining us for a Q&A session beginning at 7p.m.  Hope to see you!

HC DrugFree: TAC (Teen Advisory Council) will meet Monday, January 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Barn (Teen Center) in the Oakland Mills Village Center. TAC meets once a month and is open to all Howard County high school students. Free pizza! Teens and parents must complete the registration form found on the Teen Advisory Council page at www.hcdrugfree.org and teens must RSVP to Admin@hcdrugfree.org before each meeting.
