Dear MRHS School Community,

I am writing to inform you that at this afternoon’s Board of Education meeting important information concerning the administration at Marriotts Ridge for the 2020 -2021 academic year was discussed.

Effective July 1, 2020, Mr. Kevin Dorsey will be assigned as the Assistant Principal at Long Reach High School. Mr. Dorsey has served in the role of Assistant Principal here at Marriotts Ridge High School for the past 2 years, caring for our students and working on their behalf. We want to thank Mr. Dorsey for giving us two great years. We wish you every success in your new professional home as you create new memories and embrace new friends. We will miss you.

Ms. Shawn Hastings-Hauf (pronounced huff) will transition from her role as Assistant Principal at Bonnie Branch Middle School to serve in that same capacity here at Marriotts Ridge High School. Ms. Hastings enjoys a rich history as a Howard County educator, serving Centennial, Long Reach, and Howard high schools. She is an avid sports fan, mostly lacrosse, and will join our community effective July 1, 2020. Ms. Hastings-Hauf has two children, ages 11 and 9 who attend Patapsco Middle School and St. John’s Lane Elementary.
