PROM SAFETY WEEK – April 29-May 3

Officer Willingham will be holding activities throughout the lunch shifts reminding students to have a happy, healthy, and safe Prom.  All students are encouraged to participate in the activities   The Prom Safety activities include:

  • Monday / Signing a Prom Promise (throughout the week)
  • Tuesday / The Quick Click Challenge
  • Wednesday / Save A Life Tour Driving Simulator in the Commons

 

 

Class Council Applications due May 10  Students interested in running for Class Council should complete and submit an application packet by Friday, May 10th.  Packets can be found online at thislink or copies can be picked up in the media center.  Please see Mrs. Patterson in room 336 or Mrs. Rashid in the media center if you have any questions!

Attention 9-11th Grade Students
JumpStart Information Session
Thursday, May 9 @ 1:00 p.m.

A representative from Howard Community College will be holding a JumpStart Information Session at MRHS on Thursday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m.  The session will cover dual enrollment opportunities available to students at Marriotts Ridge.  This will include courses offered at Marriotts Ridge as high school based dual credit and the opportunities available to gain credit on campus.  Those students who are interested in exploring their options of dual enrollment are encouraged to attend.  Please see Mrs. Leaf in Student Services for a pass to attend.

 

Cricket Club  Students interested in playing cricket should attend a meeting of the Cricket Club this Friday, 5/3, in room 330 at 2:15 p.m.  We hope to have enough people to play!

 

Book Drive  The Social Studies National Honor Society is sponsoring a book drive for a Howard County elementary school in need.   “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.”— Dr. Seuss, “I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!”  Books should be new or in like new condition.  Students may drop off books in Mr. Malt's classroom (room 200) or bring them to the front office.

 

Beauty Drive sponsored by National Honor Society  Enter for a chance to win a $25 Sephora gift card by bringing in donations of NEW makeup or skincare products.  All donations will benefit HopeWorks of Howard County, a center for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.  Donations will be collected this week in Period 2 classes.

 

 

MRHS POMS 2019-20 TRYOUTS 
May 20-22, 2019 in the MRHS Dance Studio
2:30-4:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 

Thank you for your interest in the POMS Team at MRHS. It is our hope that you are interested in promoting and supporting positive school spirit through this organization.  Dancers must turn in the attached forms  at auditions.  We look forward to meeting you at tryouts. Help request for Homewood!

Homewood is the only alternate middle/high school for students with emotional/behavioral needs in HCPSS. They don’t have their own PTA so they are requesting help from the rest of us in the Howard County School System
