Mustang Flea Market is one of the biggest Music Foundation fundraisers of the year! 
Donation Drop Offs
Saturday, Feb. 9th from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m.
Saturday, Feb.16th from 9-11 a.m.
Bring donations to the storage pods behind the cafeteria. See the list of items that may be donated on the Flea Market web page.

Spring Trip 2019
Payment 3 & Emergency Form Are Due
Payment 3 of $200 and Emergency Form are now due.  Spring Trip payments may be made by check or online throughOnline School Payments.  For details please see the form linked on the Spring Trip page.  (Payments are payable to Marriotts Ridge HS and may NOT be made through Charms.)  Final payment is due 2/22; amount TBD.   If you have any questions, please contact the Spring Trip Coordinator, Kristine Jacobs at krstinej@yahoo.com

 

Mattress Sale Fundraiser – March 23
If you are considering the purchase of a new mattress, wait to make your purchase until March 23 and support the Music Foundation!  As in past years, the sale will include name brands at competitive prices.  Buying a mattress at another sale?  Mention Marriotts Ridge at another school’s sale and our Music Foundation will receive credit for the purchase.  Share the announcement from our Facebook page!  Thank you for your support!!

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN TAC AND GET SERVICE HOURS!!
TAC (Teen Advisory Council) Meeting on Monday, February 11
All Howard County high school students are invited to join HC DrugFree's Teen Advisory Council and community service hours are available for all meetings/events.  The next meeting will be on Monday, February 11.  Registration is open throughout the school year and forms can be found on our website at http://www.hcdrugfree.org/teen-advisory-council-1.   TAC follows the HCPSS weather policy. If school is closed or evening activities are canceled, there will be no TAC meeting.  Unless otherwise notified, all meetings will be held at The Barn/Teen Center in the Oakland Mills Village Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please email Admin@hcdrugfree.org.

 

MRHS PTSA Senior Scholarships – SENIORS DON’T WAIT!

Two Key Dates:

  • February 15, 2019  YOU (graduating senior) MUST be a PAID MRHS PTSA Member
  • Application deadline is April 12, 2019 @ 2:30 p.m.

Scholarships will be granted to four seniors.  The $1,500 Question: Will YOU be one of them? The application is available on the PTSA website and, also, through Student Services.   Please be sure to follow all instructions very carefully!  Questions may be directed to Denise Harris at deniseharris1106@gmail.com or 410-499-1558.

 

Another Scholarship Opportunity!

The Maryland PTA Scholarship Committee offers scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to a high school senior who plans to pursue a career in education in Maryland schools. We seek your encouragement for qualified students to apply. There are no restrictions placed on the selection of the college or university.

Please ensure that all scholarship applicants fill out the application in its entirety and forward all required information, including requested signatures, to Maryland PTA, c/o Scholarship Committee, 5 Central Avenue, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 or electronically to info@mdpta.org by 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2019.

Leadership U Class of 2019

Leadership U is recruiting current sophomores for the Leadership U Class of 2019.  Leadership U is an experiential leadership development, and community service opportunity.  Current 9th and 10th grade students and their parents are invited to attend an information session to learn more about Leadership U and hear from recent graduates and their parents.

  • Monday, February 11 at the Central Library from 7-8 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 7 at the Miller Library from 7-8 p.m.

Driver’s Education Classes at MRHS offered through Street Smarts of Maryland and sponsored by Boosters.  The next session begins Monday, February 11.  Register today!  Other upcoming sessions will be March 4-15, April 1-23, and May 15-30.

 

$2000 Scholarships – Boosters will award $2000 Scholarships to 2 Seniors!

  • Senior students can apply for one of two $2000 scholarships.
  • Family must be Booster Club members to apply – It’s not too late to join; go to www.shop.mrhs-boosters.com
  • Get application from Student Services or go to the Boosters website.
  • Deadline to apply is February 22, 2019
