CLUB NEWS
Environmental Club has a new initiative. We know that you try to bring your reusable bags when you shop. Have you ever wondered what happens to plastic bags? The truth is plastic bags, zip-lock storage bags, wrapping from water bottle and paper towel cases, really any plastic film, cannot be recycled in recycle bins. In an effort to keep these plastic bags out of landfills, we will be participating in a TREX recycling challenge. The plastic bags will be repurposed into decking. Students and staff can participate by bringing in plastic items such as, but not limited to, ziplock bags, bread and grocery bags, bubble wrap, and dry cleaning bags. Collection boxes are located in the Commons, the cafeteria, near the front office, and in front of Mrs. Kol's room 246. For more information, check out our posters around the school or ask any Environmental Club member.
