Schedule Change Requests
Requesting a Schedule Change over the summer for the 26/27 School Year
You can make an appointment with your counselor throughout the summer to discuss your schedule for next school year.
To request a change to your child’s courses, please complete the linked google form by Friday, August 14th. Please be advised changes to courses are based on availability and not guaranteed.
On 8/7/26 - 8/14/26 - You will be notified you can see your course list on Synergy.
This is a list of courses only and will not contain the period of the day nor will it include the scheduled teachers for the course. This is mainly due to the fact that schedules will be worked on throughout the summer and changes will be made for a variety of reasons (staffing adjustments, balancing class sizes, etc).
Please review your list of courses to ensure you have seven credits listed. The master schedule has been built based on the course selections students made in January; therefore, a schedule change at this time may not be able to occur.
Reasons to reach out to your counselor for a schedule adjustment by August 14th:
- You do not have 7 credits/courses listed
- You wish to change the instructional level of a course (AP, GT, Honors, Grade Level)
- You wish to sign up for Work Release time (seniors only)
- You wish to sign up for College Release time (juniors and seniors only; must be registered in courses at HCC - full year College Release requires students to take at least one class at HCC in the fall and the spring - class sign ups for Spring HCC classes will start late October/early November)
- You wish to sign up for a Teacher’s Aide (seniors only)
- You wish to sign up for a Peer Assistant/Tutor position or Lab Assistant position (juniors and seniors only)
- You are scheduled for a class you have already taken and passed
- You are a senior and missing a graduation requirement
Please note that school counselors are currently working on filling holes in schedules, adding in remaining graduation requirements for seniors, and adjusting schedules for release time and aiding. Once these tasks are complete, they will begin looking at course change requests.

Please note Student Services staff work part-time in the summer. We ask families to please be patient. Staff will respond to emails, as soon as possible, during their scheduled workdays.
