The purpose is to recognize, encourage, and foster high achievement in the Spanish language. Students will have the opportunity to apply twice a year. Admission requirements include: enrolled in Spanish 3 or above; satisfactory completion of application, essays, and teacher recommendation for each quarter and at least a B on the exam during the semester prior to application; cumulative 3.5 for overall Spanish study; approval from all members of the Spanish department; payment of one-time dues with application. Membership maintenance includes remaining enrolled in Spanish through graduation; three hours of service or scholarship per year; and maintenance of 3.0 on Spanish through graduation. Projects include assisting with World Language department programs such as Poetry Alive and It's Linguistic; tutoring students in need.
