Parent Volunteers are Needed for AfterProm!  We have a fun night lined up with lots of food, games & activities but need your support to pull it all off!  AfterProm party is from 11:30 p.m. on April 29th to 3:30 a.m. on April 30th at Glenwood Community Center in Cooksville. Whatever time you have to volunteer, beginning with set up activities @ 9:00 p.m., is greatly appreciated. Please use the sign-up link below and give your time for this worthwhile student event!

Not My Child…Yes, Your Child presented by HC DrugFree in partnership with the River Hill High School PTSA will be held on April 25 at River Hill High School at 7:00 p.m. Free and open to the public. WANTED: High school and middle school parents (grandparents, aunts/uncles, and any adult working with teens) who think their children will never get involved with drugs and those parents who are already suspicious or dealing with a child’s experimentation!  You are strongly encouraged to attend this event to learn more about the drugs used and abused in Howard County, what we all need to know and do about the rise in overdose deaths happening here, how parents and the community can better arm ourselves to help our children (whether pre-teens, teens or adults), and more. Student Member of the Board Elections The election for SMOB will take place Wednesday, April 26, and all students in grades 6-11 will vote at their schools.   To learn more about the candidates, the forum will air again today, April 25, at 4pm on Channel 95 Comcast and 42 Verizon. Parking Permit/Safe Driving Presentation: Glenelg High School will host a parking permit/safe driving presentation on April 27 at 6pm in the Glenelg media center.   Students who wish to drive and park vehicles on school property are annually required to attend a driver safety session with at least one parent/guardian prior to obtaining a parking permit.

The Applications & Research Laboratory (ARL) invites you to the Showcase Open House:

  • Stroll the hallways and check out the innovative projects underway across all of the Career Academies.
  • Hear from students firsthand about the positive impact that their mentorship experience has had on their learning, what they’ve gleaned from in-depth laboratory research, or how they plan on transitioning from the classroom to the real world after completing an Academy.
  • The ARL is home to so many fantastic programs, and they look for forward to the opportunity to sharing them with the community.
