PTSA Nominating Committee Seeks Interested Candidates

The Marriotts Ridge  PTSA Nominating committee is in search of candidates to take on the important roles on the PTSA Executive Board for the 2017-18 school year. The purpose of this committee is to recruit talented and motivated candidates to fill open PTSA officer positions for the following 2017-2018 school year.  This very important goal can’t happen without your help!

The committee is seeking all persons interested in serving on the PTSA Executive Board or desiring to recommend to the Board qualified persons to contact David Brown at 410-480-2721 or, if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.


Safe Driving Presentation will be held Thursday, April 27, 6 p.m. at Glenelg High School Students who wish to drive and park vehicles on school property are annually required to attend a driver safety session with at least one parent/guardian prior to obtaining a parking permit.  


“Reflecting on Perspectives in Modern Medicine”   The Pre-Medicine Club at Centennial is holding a medical seminar this Saturday, April 22 from 9am-3pm.  All interested high school students are invited to attend this Howard County event.  There will be sessions by doctors, a pre-med student, and a current medical student followed by a panel.  Registration is free and will begin at 9am.  Lunch will be provided.


Tickets for Student Performance at Merriweather Post Pavilion

HCPSS's Fine Arts Program is celebrating Columbia's 50th Birthday with a student performance at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Sunday, April 23 at 4pm.  The event will include performances from all 12 HCPSS high schools and will honor Jim Rouse's legacy of community, collaboration, integration, diversity, vision, and human voice.   

This is a free event, but tickets are required for general admission seating within the Pavilion.  We have been given tickets to distribute; please stop by the front office if you plan to attend and would like to sit in the covered Pavilion. 

The general admission Pavilion tickets do state that all ticket holders must be seated by 3:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 4:00 p.m.  Gates open at 2:30.  Any empty general admission Pavilion seats will be filled prior to the start of the performance; so plan to arrive on time to secure your seats.  Lawn seating at Merriweather is available and does not require tickets.

Hear from students firsthand about the positive impact that their mentorship experience has had on their learning, what they’ve gleaned from in-depth laboratory research, or how they plan on transitioning from the classroom to the real world after completing an Academy.
The ARL is home to so many fantastic programs, and they look for forward to the opportunity to sharing them with the community.
