NEWS from MUSIC FOUNDATION

Mustang Flea Market

 Saturday, 2/25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Donations are still needed to make this a successful event!  We accept almost everything! (NO couches or large upholstered items, NO old televisions, mattresses, or pianos.)  Drop off times are:

TONIGHT, 2/22, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Friday, 2/24 from 4-9 p.m.(Furniture items may be dropped off on Friday.)

Volunteers are also needed to help with set up on Friday and run the event on Saturday. PLENTY OF WORK FOR EVERYBODY!!  Please use the sign up below to volunteer your time.

 

Gold Party Event is back!

Cashing in with Gold Party Event means... Cashing in for your cause!

Gold Party Event fundraising will be offering free, easy and no pressure evaluations on ANY gold and silver COLORED items to identify whether they are gold, silver, platinum and of what karat THIS SATURDAY AT THE MUSTANG FLEA MARKET!  The items are then weighted and valued.  Should you choose to sell your items, you will keep 100% of the money!  

Gold Party Event works hard to offer the highest payout rates around, so you are sure to receive great return on your unwanted items.  The donations come from Gold Party Event. 10-20% of all sales will be donated from their profit and NOT your sale money!  

We can  raise a lot of money for our Music Department through this program that is designed to put money BACK into the pockets of the participants!! Please help spread the word!!

BOOSTER CLUB NEWS

 

Seniors, how have you made a difference at the Ridge?

BOOSTER  2017 SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS –

Application Deadline is February 24 at 2:30 p.m.

Mustang Booster Club will award two $2000 scholarships toward future education expenses. Scholarships honor two seniors who embody the Booster goal of “Making a Difference at the Ridge.”  Any eligible senior student may apply.  Complete application directions/information sheets are available in the Student Services office or by click here.   A completed application must be submitted to Ms. Dubbs in the Student Services office, in a sealed 9x12 envelope marked “Booster Scholarship” by 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017.  Winners will be announced in May.

 

SUMMER CAMPS – Registration is now open!

Boosters-sponsored summer camps with by MRHS Athletic Coaches and Fine Arts Teachers take place each summer.  We offer a complete selection of Sports and Music/Fine Arts Camps to choose from for students in 1st-12th grades.    NEW THIS YEAR . . . Let’s Get Cooking Culinary Camp and Multi-Sport Camp!  MRHS offers the ideal atmosphere for an exceptional summer camp experience with exposure to MRHS facilities and excellent staff.  Most camps run for 5 days with weekly sessions beginning June 9th, ending the week of July 31st.  For more information including the camp descriptions and schedules, CLICK HERE.

 

Mustang Madness – March 11

The Boosters Annual Fundraiser!

Location: Players Bar & Grill (in the Waverly Shopping Center)

Time: 7-11 PM

Tickets are $50 thru March 9 ($60 at the door)

Come join other parents/guardians for a night of fun and fundraising.  There will be dinner, raffles, prizes, a silent auction* and music featuring The Dixon Ulmer Band.  Donations for the silent auction will be accepted until March 1. Community Notices & Events

Leadership U Class of 2017  Don’t miss this last chance – to come to a Leadership U Information session!!  Give your sophomore the opportunity to have an experience that will be a highlight of his or her high school career.  Come hear from LU grads and learn what the program is all about.   Our final information session is Thursday, March 2 at Miller Library from 7-8pm.  Parents and students in both 9th and 10th grade are encouraged to attend.  Additional information is available at http://www.leadershiphc.org/ or email Meg Ignacio mignacio@leadershiphc.org.   Applications are due March 16, 2017.

 

HC DrugFree Teen Advisory Council (TAC) is open to all Howard County high school students and community service hours are available. The next two meetings will be on Mondays, March 13 and April 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Barn (Teen Center) in the Oakland Mills Village Center. Free pizza is provided. Teens must complete the registration form found on the Teen Advisory web page at www.hcdrugfree.org, and RSVP to Admin@hcdrugfree.org.

HC DrugFree Annual Senior Week: Staying Safe In Ocean City Back by popular demand - Wednesdays, March 22 at Atholton High School and March 29 at Howard High School, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Parents (and grandparents!) and high school seniors are encouraged to attend. Ocean City Police and Beach Patrol will provide safety tips about water, beach, drugs/alcohol, crossing the busy highway, and much more.
