New process this year! Course registration forms for the school year of 2018-2019 will be submitted online. Students will receive a hard copy of their course registration form on January 8, 2018. Course registration process will open January 8, 2018. Course registrations are required to be submitted on line by the end of the school day on January 19, 2018.
Students will see the courses which were recommended by content teachers. The form will contain directions which will explain how to make course request for electives and alternates. The student and parent/guardian should use the Catalog of Approved School Courses to review course selections for the upcoming school year. The online course request and catalog can be found at HCPSS Connect. Note course descriptions and pre-requisites. If you do not have access to a computer, need assistance, or want to make changes after January 19, 2018, please contact student services. If you have concerns about or disagree with any of the course recommendations, you may complete the reverse side of the course registration form and submit to student services.
We have been informed that the LOCK button referred to in the Online Registration directions has been disabled and hidden from view (Step 11). Your selections will be saved automatically. The time between today and January 19th is for students and parents to have conversations to select courses for the next school year. There is no need for students or parents to make appointments with counselors during this time period. Counselors will meet with students after midterms are completed to discuss and review the selections and make any changes necessary. Parents will receive an email with the final course requests in mid-Februrary.
