The Marriotts Ridge High School graduation will take place at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Thursday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m.

Graduation Request Forms
Please use the following links to request additional graduation tickets, reserve handicapped seating and notify staff of an HCPSS employee's wish to present their child's diploma at graduation.
Students will receive 8 graduation tickets at end of the Senior Picnic. Use this link to request additional tickets.
Only vehicles with a state issued handicapped parking permit may park in the designated handicapped spots at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Guests requiring a shorter walk with flatter terrain may be dropped off closer to the pavilion, at the Little Patuxent Parkway entrance. After guests are dropped off, vehicles without state issued handicapped parking permits will be directed to park in the general guest parking off of Broken Land Parkway. Merriweather does not provide wheelchairs for mobility impaired guests. This request form is for guests who cannot easily navigate the stairs at the pavilion and will need to be seated at floor level. One additional ticket can be requested at the floor level but due to space constraints. Use this form to request handicapped seating.
HCPSS Employee Parents Presenting Diplomas
Howard County School System employees may present their child's diploma at graduation. The HCPSS procedure is that graduates of staff members will be presented with their diploma at one time during the ceremony. Please be aware that these names will be read at the end of the alphabet/ceremony. Only parents or legal guardians may present diplomas to students. Parents presenting diplomas will sit with their guests in the front right (facing the stage) section of the guest seating area in the pavilion. Students will receive tickets with specific seat numbers on them. There is no need to arrive earlier than the graduates to secure seats in this section. Use the link below to request to present your child's diploma. Employees will need to be logged into GAFE to access this form. This form is due April 21, 2017 per the HCPSS notice to staff on 3/23/17.
Cap, Gown and Graduation Accessories
A representative from Balfour met with the senior class during Mustang Time on February 22 about ordering caps, gowns and other graduation merchandise. Each student received an ordering packet. Extra packets are available in the front office. Orders may be placed in person, outside the cafeteria, during lunch on March 1 and 2. Orders may also be placed online through www.balfour.com or by mailing the order form and payment directly to Balfour. Order deadline is Apirl 1, 2017.
All students must have a cap and gown to participate in commencement. Students who plan to borrow a cap and gown must only borrow from a graduate in the classes of 2016, 2015 or 2014. Gowns from previous years are from a past vendor; the material and shade of blue from earlier years will not match the current gowns. Please note, all students will wear blue caps and gowns. Regalia from HCPSS approved academic honor societies will be distributed through their MRHS staff advisors.
2017 Senior Scholarships
MRHS Boosters will award two $2000 scholarships designed for a MRHS Booster club member who strives for excellence and has “Made a Difference at Marriotts Ridge”. The purpose of the MRHS PTSA scholarship is to encourage young people to further their education, whether it be academically in a college settng or through a trade school. Four scholarships in the amount of $1500 are available to eligible MRHS seniors. Information regarding eligibility requirements and the application process is available on their website at http://www.marriottsridgeptsa.org/ Applications must be received by April 18 at 2:30 p.m.
Congratulate your graduating student with a personalized banner. The banners will hang in the auditorium hallway during the month of May and will be returned to your graduate after the farewell assembly. Banner details and a sample design are on the order form. The cost is $35 and all order forms with check payable to Marriotts Ridge PTSA are due by March 31, 2017. All profits wil be donated to the PTSA.
