The nationally ranked Marriotts Ridge Marching Band is looking for students to join the Color Guard and will be hosting an open house this Wednesday, May 18th from 6:30-8:00 in the Band Room. No previous experience is required. A dance background is helpful but not required. Don't miss your chance to be part of a nationally ranked performing group! Flyer is attached at the bottom of the page.
The MRHS PTSA invites parents to serve on the PTSA commitee. The PTSA providers various services to the MRHS school community. Are you a high school student or young adult age 14–24? Are you funny or creative? We Want YOU! This is a great opportunity for anyone that has on-screen talent or behind the scenes energy for a commercial series challenging the marketing tactics of the sugary drink industry. The series will air to residents of Howard County, Maryland.
There are numerous ways to participate: on screen actors, idea-generators, organizers, event planners, extras, on-site filmers, social media experts, and community advocates. THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY to showcase your skills and talents and get experience for the future!

721 pounds of meds and several boxes of “sharps” (needles, syringes, and EpiPens) were collected and 130 personal medication storage boxes were given away for free at the HC DrugFree location in the Wilde Lake Village Center within 4 hours on Saturday, April 30. Thank you to the hundreds of residents who participated in this drive-thru service and removed these items from youth and your families. HC DrugFree has ordered 500 additional storage boxes and plans to hold another meds and sharps collection in the fall. HC DrugFree's Teen Advisory Council Meeting will be on Monday, May 23 at 5:30 PM at The Barn in the Oakland Mills Village Center. Feel free to bring your high school friends! The Activities and Athletics Fair for incoming freshmen will be held on Friday, June 3rd, 2016, from 8:30 am to 10:20 am. This is an opportunity for all teams, clubs and student organizations to meet with and distribute information to next year's freshmen class. The Social Studies Department is in search of parent volunteers to help with an American Government financial literacy simulation through The Junior Achievement Personal Finance Experience. Two Howard County high schools are selected each year to participate in this worthwhile program that runs students through a simulation geared toward making some of the significant financial decisions that they will encounter as adults. No experience is necessary to volunteer.
The simulation will take place on Friday, May 27, 2016 in the MRHS Cafeteria from 7:45AM to 10:30AM.
Our 2016 MRHS Boosters Golf Classic will be held on Friday, June 3rd, 2015 at Waverly Woods Golf Course with registration at 12pm. This is one of the boosters signature fund raising events. This year you can register and sponsor on-line at http://www.mrhs-golf.com. We have opportunities for Tournament Sponsors, Corporate Sponsors, Hole Sponsors and registration for singles or foursomes. This year we accept payment on-line via credit card for golfers and foursomes. Tournament Sponsors, Hole Sponsors and Corporate sponsors can pay on-line via credit card or choose to be invoiced from our web site.
· Tournament Sponsorships are $1,500.00 and they receive a foursome, a logo on our web site, a banner displayed at the club house, beer cart advertisement, a hole sign, and custom opportunities to advertise and promote your business. Have your logo ready when you register to upload it to our web site.
· Corporate Sponsorships are $1,000.00 and they receive a foursome, a logo on our web site, a banner displayed at the club house, and a hole sign. Have your logo ready when you register to upload to our web site.
· Hole Sponsorships are $275.00 and they have their logo displayed on our web site, and hole sign. Parents this is a great way to create a hole sign that honor, thank or promote a teacher, coach, student, club, or team!
· Foursomes are $600.00 and Individual Golfers are $150.00. Golfers receive a boxed lunch provided by Harris Teeter, golf for the tournament with a cart, dinner provided by Outback Steakhouse, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages during the tournament.
We have set a goal to raise $10,000.00 this year to support the many sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities at the school.
