MRHS Today's Topics - April 21

Fri, 04/22/2016 - 7:34am

The Social Studies Department is in search of parent volunteers to help with an American Government financial literacy simulation through The Junior Achievement Personal Finance Experience.  MRHS is one of two Howard County high schools selected this year to participate in this worthwhile program that runs students through a simulation geared toward making some of the significant financial decisions that they will encounter as adults.  No experience is necessary to volunteer.

The simulation will take place on Friday, May 27, 2016 in the MRHS Cafeteria from 7:45AM to 10:30AM.

The Prom is just around the corner and so the Kaleidoscope After Prom Party is, too! This year we are teaming up with the Prom sponsors to sell tickets.  We will have common days, one table, and one signup.

Please consider signing up for a shift or two. We will need at least two people per shift and three as we get closer to April 30.  Once you sign up, you will be emailed further instructions including where to find the after prom tickets and the cash box for the After Prom tickets and directions for prom tickets.

We still need help even if Sign up Genius is full, especially this Friday and next week.  Please email Ms. Spruill at if you can help the last minute surge of sales.  Thanks.

After Prom Party ($10) and Bus tickets ($10 from prom to after prom) go on sale during the lunch shifts.  Students MUST turn in waivers at the time of ticket purchase: attendance waiver ( and specific Howard County Rock Climbing wall (if they think they will participate:  Both are available on the PTSA website. Flyer with details also available on website:

Tickets will be sold until April 28.

The After Prom is coming and WE NEED YOU to volunteer.  It is A LOT of fun!!
