OCTOBER 11 is PSAT DAY

PSAT (Grade 9) – PSAT/NMSQT (Grades 10-11) – College Day (Grade 12)

All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will be participating in the administration of the PSAT on Wed., October 11, 2017.  Freshman will participate in the PSAT 8/9 while sophomores and juniors participate in the PSAT/NMSQT.  All students have been pre-registered.

Students in the 10th and 11th grades have received the PSAT-NMSQT Student Guide through their English classes.  The College Board has made the PSAT-8/9 Student Guide available to 9th grade students in .pdf format.  The 22-page document is available by clicking here.  Student Guides are provided in order to give students and parents/guardians

  • Provide test-taking advice and tips, and
  • Show examples of directions and sample test questions.

We encourage all students to review their PSAT Student Guide before the October 11th test day.  Parents/Guardians, please ensure that your child gets plenty of rest the night prior, eats a healthy breakfast, brings her/her calculator, and arrives to school on time.

WHAT ABOUT SENIORS?

Traditionally, seniors have used this day for college and career preparations.  This is a good day to visit colleges and potential career sites and work on their college application.  Seniors may also decide to come to school to complete work and should report directly to Student Services.  Due to testing, the Media Center computers will not be available on this day.  If you plan to be absent to work on college and career prep, please complete the discretionary absence form and return it to Mrs. Romero in the Front Office.
